Home Hardware tops the list with 88.3% of their customers being satisfied, followed by Mitre 10 (86.6%) and Bunnings (86.2%) rounding out the top 3. Meanwhile, the level of satisfaction of True Value Hardware (82.3%) customers was below the average for the major hardware stores.

Roy Morgan Single Source (Australia): Oct 2008 - Sep 2009. Sample: Total purchased from a Hardware store the last 4 weeks n=10,962. Total stores refers to the average of all stores from all categories. Total Hardware Stores refers to the average of the 4 major hardware stores.
Norman Morris, Industry Communications Director, Roy Morgan Research, says:
“Currently there’s little difference in the customer satisfaction levels of the two biggest hardware players Mitre 10 and Bunnings. With the current buyout proposals from Metcash and private equity group Anchorage Capital, it will be interesting to see whether Mitre 10 can build their customer satisfaction levels ahead of the giant hardware store Bunnings.”
“However, with Home Hardware at the top of satisfaction in the hardware sector, it’s both Mitre 10 and Bunnings that have a task ahead of them to outperform Home Hardware in customer satisfaction.”
